The highlight of this year's Beautiful Bakersfield awards ceremony was a special President's Award to Dr. Chuck Wall,
Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce President Morgan Clayton made the presentation.
About 450 people attended the 11th annual Beautiful Bakersfield banquet at the Red Lion Inn.
Lisa Kimble and Barry Zoeller of KERO-TV shared master of ceremonies at the event. The Thursday evening banquet was sponsored by the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce.
Seventeen Beautiful Bakersfield Awards were presented to local citizens and groups who have helped to improve the image and quality of life in the community over the past year.

Humanitarian-individual: Kenneth and Margaret Milligan.
Humanitarian-group: Golden Empire Gleaners Haven House.
Historical:
Landscaping: Texaco.
Environmental: Tie, Project Clean Air and
Seniors-Group: Golda and Clarence Doyal and Trinity Lighthouse Ministries Program.
Seniors-Individual: Socorro Kimble.
Youth-Group:
Youth-Individual: Michael McGee.
